West coast rapper, The Game is readying to release his sophomore offering, The Doctor’s Advocate.
The rapper is said to be adding last minute touches to the album. It will feature production credits from an allstar of beatsmiths including Scott Storch, Kanye West, Just Blaze, Timbaland and of course Dr. Dre.
While G-unit general, 50 Cent co-executive produced and made cameos on Game’s debut project, The Documentary, he will not have any input on this forthcoming album.
In related news, the Compton rapper is expected to be featured on an upcoming PSP street racing video game. Game will also produce the soundtrack to the video game.
Game will also be co-starring with Tyrese, Larenz Tate and Meagan Good in an action/thriller entitled Waist Deep, which hits theaters on April 28th.

When Chino XL’s latest offering, Poison Pen, drops March 21st, fans will have a chance to have their voices heard. Chino’s label Activate and Foundation Chi are working together in a contest that will have fans add their verses to one of the bonus tracks on the upcoming album.
The 16 track effort will feature Killah Priest, Proof of D12, and Psycho Les of the Beatnuts. After the album drops, participants will have 90 days to submit their verses to the label. Further instructions will be provided with the CD package. The winner, chosen by Chino XL, will be announced in Vegas at the Pro-Am B-Boy finals.
Besides including an acapella track of Chino’s verse on “All I Wanna Do (Bout Nuthin),” it will include a second DJ mix with commentary from Chino and Beat Junkie Mr. Choc.

Busta Rhymes flew to Los Angeles over the weekend to complete the star-studded video to his “Touch It” remix.
The filming of the video placed Busta in the headlines, because of the shooting death of his bodyguard Isreal Ramirez during the portion filmed in New York.
Ramirez was shot and killed on Feb. 5, during a celebrity filled video shoot in Brooklyn, New York. Police suspect that an argument between G-Unit’s Tony Yayo and Ruff Ryders president Swizz Beatz sparked the deadly shooting.
The rapper and other alleged witnesses have refused to cooperate with authorities, leaving the case in limbo.
Late last week, reports surfaced that an audio tape detailing the minutes leading up to the murder wound up surfacing, but the unidentified owner was selling the tape for $50,000.
According to sources, the tape reveals the argument that led to the shooting and the voice of an unidentified man calling Busta Rhymes a “b***h.” Police believe the man heard on the tape is the gunman, an alleged an associate of Tony Yayo.
A spokesperson for the Brooklyn district attorney’s office has gone on record requesting the audio tape and pleading for any persons to come forward with information. Meanwhile, New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly continues to criticize those who were there at the time of the shooting for not coming forward to help solve the murder.
No details regarding the video’s airdate, nor the rapper’s whereabouts, has been made public.

Former Vibe Magazine editor, MTV Real World alum and hip-hop activist Kevin Powell is running for a seat in Brooklyn, New York’s 10th Congressional District.
After years of participating in summits and panel discussions Powell is opting to take his outreach to the United States Congress, creating a slow but sure buzz.
“I have watched America go through many changes over the past few years, because of September 11th, because of the war in Iraq, because of Hurricane Katrina, because of the exploitation and manipulation of our values and our differences, and I want to use my voice, in Washington, DC, on a national stage, in a way that affirms our humanity, not denies it,” said Powell via a statement.
“America is not the country it once was, but we are still not the country we can be either,” he added. “It is time for new leadership, a new generation, to push us forward, and I want to be a part of that wave of fresh ideas, of new visions, for these times, for the 21st century.”
Powell is reaching out for potential supporters to write checks to for his campaign. The maximum donation is $2000 under federal law. Powell has until March 31 to raise sufficient funds to run for senate.

Snoop Dogg is readying a tour with a live band in New Zealand in April. This will be the first time the West coast rapper is touring New Zealand since 1998.
Snoop and his 12-piece band, The Snoopadelics, will make stops in Wellington at the Events Centre on Apr. 13 and at the Supertop Ericcson Stadium in Auckland on Apr. 15th.
Dawn Raid Entertainment’s rapper Savage will join Snoop on the road. Savage is well known as one of the founding members of New Zealand’s own Hip-Hop groups –The Deceptikonz.
Savage released his album Monnshine last year, which went double platinum in New Zealand.

The “Ill Na-Na” Foxy Brown’s hearing is slowly returning after undergoing an emergency surgery for her ear ailment that threatened to leave the femcee permanently deaf.
Brown, 26, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was diagnosed with sudden sensorineural hearing loss in May 2005 while in the process of recording her album, Black Roses.
It was made public in December ’05 that Marchand completely loss her hearing, when she and her attorney Joseph Tacopina were exchanging notes while waiting in Manhattan Criminal Court for an unresolved 2004 assault charge to be called.
Def Jam president Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter revealed, “She just had an operation out in LA, and hopefully within the next couple of weeks her hearing will slowly start to come back.”

Joey Crack apparently disagrees with the new union between “God’s Son”—Nas and Jay-Z.
Fat Joe thinks that it was a bad decision for Escobar to sign to Def Jam Records, which Jay-Z oversees, after the extensive beef that has existed between the two emcees.
“I used to look up to Nas a lot. And I don’t even really respect what he did. How do you become a friend to a person who disrespects your baby’s mother? It’s too much ugliness. I almost died, as a Hip-Hop fan, when I heard they were together,” said Joe.

Rapper Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges is celebrating Black History Month in conjunction with MTV2 by hosting a special half-hour special called “Worldwide Thing: Africa,” showing videos by Africa’s rising Hip-Hop stars.
“Worldwide Thing: Africa” will feature artists from the Ivory Coast to Senegal. Ludacris will also share his personal experiences of when he performed with Skwatta Kamp and 2 Face in South Africa and Nigeria.
Luda explained, “In my opinion Africa is the biggest untapped Hip-Hop market in the world. So many creative artists have a real life story to tell and I instantly connected with them and their music. I am just as much a fan of there work as they are of mine.”
