Nearly a month out of prison and UGK rapper Pimp C is back in the studio prepping the launch of a magazine and the release of his debut solo album.
According to Rolling Stone Magazine, C cut three tracks the first week out of jail. He remade UGK’s 1994 song “Front, Back and Side to Side” with T.I. , a song with Webbie and a remix of Bun B’s “Get Throwed.”
“I did all that last night,” revealed Pimp C. “I’ll knock three more out tonight and three more tomorrow. I’m trying to average three a day. I’m trying to get it all out.”
Besides concentrating on the studio, the rapper is also focusing on the launch of Laca Magazine, a publication based on Houston Hip-Hop.
C’s project is expected to drop later this year. He has plenty of songs for his project since he’s been writing since he was incarcerated in 2001.
Pimp revealed, “I put together over 2,500 songs in jail. I did them all on loose-leaf paper. When I’d get ten songs, I’d mail them home so that they wouldn’t get lost in the sauce. They’re still all in the envelopes/ I got a shopping bag full of rhymes.”

Nick Cannon has finally left Jive Records and established his own imprint, Can I Ball, via Motown Records. The first project as part of the deal will be his sophomore album, Stages, due this spring. The set boasts production by Kanye West and collaborations with Talib Kweli, Anthony Hamilton and 112.
Also featured on the album is Cannon’s first CIB signing, an artist named Izzy. The album is executive-produced by Cannon and his new music manager, Michael “Blue” Williams, president/CEO of Family Tree Entertainment.
